Board of Trustees – German YMCA in London

 

Christian Daur – Chair of Trustees (appointed March 2011, Chair from February 2025)

Christian is Compliance Manager R&D at Ottobock SE & Co. KGaA, a global leader in medical technology. He has served on the German YMCA Board since 2011 and also sits on the board of The German Christian Association (London) CIO. Christian brings 14 years of governance and compliance experience to his new role as Chair.

 

Angela Fox – Trustee (appointed March 2011)

Angela is a partner and solicitor in the intellectual property team at Mishcon de Reya LLP. She specialises in trademarks, copyright, domain names, and designs, and is the author of The Intellectual Property Enterprise Court: Practice and Procedure. Angela brings legal expertise and strategic insight to the Board and also sits on the board of The German Christian Association (London) CIO.

 

Nora Daur – Trustee (appointed March 2011) & Director, Lancaster Hall Hotel Ltd (appointed July 2024)

Nora is a British–Austrian management consultant with over a decade of experience in the luxury hospitality sector, specialising in hotel asset management and strategic consultancy. A long-time supporter of the German YMCA in London, she brings valuable continuity and insight as a member of the Daur family, alongside professional expertise that now also supports the governance of Lancaster Hall Hotel.

Martin Tinsley – Trustee (appointed September 2012) 

Martin is an experienced project manager with a background in organisational development and strategic planning. He has a strong track record of leading cross-functional teams, managing complex projects, and driving organisational improvements.  As a long-serving trustee, Martin plays a key role in shaping the German YMCA in London's strategic direction and strengthening its governance structures.

 

Catherine Halsey – Trustee (appointed September 2019)

Catherine is Associate Director at BDO UK Accounting, and her accounting expertise is of huge value to the association. She also sits on the board of The German Christian Association (London) CIO, contributing to the organisation’s wider charitable governance.

 

Sven Haase – Trustee (appointed July 2023) 

Sven has a background in capital markets and financial services, with global experience in building client relationships, team leadership, and business development. He currently works in transaction management and capital markets support at CSC, offering a range of corporate trust and agency services. Sven brings a strategic and analytical perspective to the German YMCA in London, supporting its long-term financial planning and organisational resilience.

Michael Minett – Trustee (appointed October 2023, Vice Chair from February 2025)

Michael is a business consultant and entrepreneur with expertise in innovation, sustainability, and workforce technology. He brings a forward-thinking approach to the organisation’s development.

 

Katherine Payne – Trustee (appointed January 2025) 

Katherine is a retired banker with an extensive background in finance. She is also a trustee of several other charities, including Fulham Good Neighbour Service and the St Paul’s German Evangelical Reformed Church Trust.

 

Mark Quigley – Trustee (appointed January 2025)

Director & Managing Director Lancaster Hall Hotel Ltd (appointed October 2021) 

Mark is a Trustee of the German YMCA in London and also serves as a Director of Lancaster Hall Hotel Ltd in a non-executive capacity, bringing valuable financial and property expertise to both boards. As Trustee, he is committed to supporting the organisation’s long-term sustainability. In his role at the hotel, he contributes to its ongoing viability and strategic oversight. Mark is a senior real estate finance professional with many years of experience in structured finance. He is Managing Director of Beaufort Capital, a firm delivering bespoke funding solutions for property developments across all real estate asset classes in the UK.

Dieter Losse – Former Chair of Trustees (retired June 2025)

Dieter served with distinction as Chair of Trustees, guiding the German YMCAin London through significant periods of transition and development. His leadership has left a lasting legacy.

 

 

 

Board of Lancaster Hall Hotel

 

Rebecca Tinsley – Managing Director & Company Secretary (appointed March 2019, Secretary since November 2021) 

Rebecca is the General Manager of Lancaster Hall Hotel and CEO of the German YMCA in London. Having progressed from receptionist to executive leadership over 30 years, she now oversees the strategic and operational management of the hotel. Under her leadership, the hotel continues to fund the German YMCA in London’s charitable work, including the Room for Opportunity initiative, launched in 2021, which provides free accommodation for schools and youth-focused charities.
