The Erlkings are the world's premier Schubert-based folk/rock band. Comprised of three classically trained multi-instrumentalists, the Erlkings perform new arrangements of Schubert's finest songs in fresh and original English translations. Equally comfortable in an elegant concert house or a smokey beer hall, the Erlkings are the only group around getting audiences dancing to Goethe and Schiller. The Erlkings made their musical debut at Vienna's famous jazz club "Porgy and Bess" with great success. Since then they have been in high demand for their original and exciting performances.

Bryan Benner (guitar/vocals)
Gabriel Hopfmueller (cello/brass instruments)
Thomas Toppler (percussion)

The Erlkings are currently on a tour of the UK, performing at venues including the Oxford Lieder Festival, the Oundle Festival and the Austrian Cultural Forum London.

Concert for Gordon

Concert for GordonOn 1 July 2014 we had an exceptional concert at The Charterhouse in the City of London. We honoured the co-founder of the Schubert Society of Britain, Gordon Honey, by bringing Isabel Beyer & Harvey Dagul (piano duettists) for a recital to his residence. It was a most enjoyable event, rounded off by tea and German cake.
